We have dealt with winter wheat, so today we will talk about such a specific and intensive crop as winter oilseed rape, because the restoration of its vegetation is also not far off. Let’s determine in which phases and how we can improve our harvest.
1️⃣ ROSETTE (spring) – balanced NPK nutrition during this period will help restore and form a strong leaf apparatus. Boron deficiency – provokes hollowness (during this period, oilseed rape absorbs up to 25% of the total Boron requirement). That is why it is necessary to carry out foliar feeding with complex microfertilizers and mandatory Boron application.
2️⃣ SHOOTING – all morphophysiological processes are activated. Up to 80% of all Nitrogen is assimilated (from vegetation recovery to flowering). The final harvest potential is being formed. In this period, it is necessary to apply complex fertilizers with micro-elements + biostimulants to activate the formation of generative organs. Let’s not forget – Boron application is necessary to maintain the elasticity of tissues, activate the root system, and prepare for bud formation.
3️⃣ BUDDING – END OF FLOWERING – it is determined how many flowers will be pollinated and form seeds (fullness of the pod). That is why it is necessary to apply Boron (for normal pollination of flowers) and antistressants to minimize the effects of stress during budding.
4️⃣ FORMATION – POD FILLING – a mass of 1000 seeds is formed – this indicator can be additionally improved due to nitrogen application.
✅ So, REMEMBER: BEFORE THE PHASE OF ACTIVE FLOWERING, WE WORK ON THE QUANTITY, AND ALREADY AFTER – ON THE QUALITY OF OUR HARVEST!
