Ready-for-use peat substrates have a number of advantages:

• they are made of high-quality white sphagnum peat;
• they do not require addition of lime and they are adjusted for pH;
• they contain superficially active substances (wetting agent);
• they contain complex water-soluble N-P-K fertilizers;
• they contain micro-nutrients;
• they do not contain seeds of weeds and phytopathogenic microorganisms (causative agents of plant diseases);
• they do not contain heavy metal ions.
